"The students enrolled in Legacy, a program started in January with about 15 teens, decided to go to Los Angeles after meeting representatives of Homeboy Industries earlier this spring. The men came to Napa for a series of screenings of “G-Dog,” a documentary on Homeboy Industries sponsored by the Napa Valley Film Festival." --via Napa Valley Register
Since 2012, the Legacy Youth Project, LLC is an Ethnic Studies and social justice leadership program committed to the healing, transformation, and liberation of Napa Valley youth. Through our Heartwork Pedagogy, we cultivate humanizing opportunities for our scholar warriors to lead, rejoice, and thrive.
Throughout an eight year partnership with the school district, the Legacy Youth Project (LYP) was fiscally sponsored by two local non-profit organizations. As of August 2020, LYP transitioned to a Limited Liability Company (LLC).
